A new Curzon cinema will open in the heart of the East End in January – bringing movies to an east London neighbourhood that currently lacks any cinema at all.

As part of a big new seven-acre property development called Goodman's Fields, the Curzon Aldgate will have four small-ish screens, ranging in capacity from 60 seats to 78 seats.

The Curzon Aldgate will sit just south of Aldgate East tube and north of Cable Street, not far from one of London's most-loved theatres, Wilton's Music Hall, and on the edge of the neighbourhoods of Shadwell and Wapping.

The Curzon cinema chain, which already runs venues including the Curzon Soho and Curzon Mayfair, promises that the film offering will range from 'quality Hollywood to the finest independent cinema from all over the world'. The venue will also offer a ground-floor café-bar serving drinks and snacks.

The Curzon Aldgate will open in January 2017 at Goodman’s Fields, Leman Street, Aldgate, London E1 8EY.
