Take a look at London on Google Maps and you probably won't be blown away by its visual beauty. But artist Yanko Tihov has given it a cultural makeover by creating a map of London out of passports – and it looks pretty damn cool. Celebrating the diverse mix of people living in the city, Yanko has used data from the 2011 census to show the most common non-British nationalities in every London borough.

The map uses a total of 32 different passports and the detail on the covers are hand-painted with 23-carat gold. Fancy stuff.

Yanko Tihov's London Passport Map will be on show at Multiplied art fair October 16-18 at Christie's South Kensington, 85 Old Brompton Rd, SW7 3LD.
