London is getting a pop-up bar where dogs will serve you free beer

We've had some pretty ridiculous pop-ups in London over the last few years – a blobfish café (that never actually materialised), a roast potato pop-up, and a weed-themed restaurant – but this really takes the (dog) biscuit.

A pop-up bar staffed by dogs will open its doors tomorrow (May 6) for one day only. Yes, this is really happening. The dogs will wear harnesses with mini barrels that are stuffed with bottles of beer, which these well-trained pooches will deliver to thirsty customers. But there will be a few human members of staff on hand to refresh the barrels, because, cute as they are, these dogs haven't magically developed opposable thumbs. Unsurprisingly, the whole thing is a stunt for Kronenbourg, but did we mention that the beer is free?

Bar D’Alsace-tian is at 26 Greek St, W1D 5DE. May 6, 6.30pm-8.30pm.

In other animal news, there was a pheasant on the loose in King's Cross.

And here are ten London dogs doing Instagram better than you.
