If you assumed that Londoners just couldn’t get any damn classier (and, to be fair, that’s a justified assumption), a new study released by Aldi has just proved that our classiness is practically off the scale.
The retailer has produced a wine map of Great Britain, which reveals the varieties most-favoured by cities across the UK according to its online sales. The map shows that while Birmingham prefers rosé and Norwich has a thing for shiraz, London’s most-purchased plonk is nothing less than champagne. Which makes us officially Quite Swanky Poos Indeed.
What’s more, we clearly know a good deal when we spot it, with the budget Aldi champers so bulk-bought by our populace costing £10.99 a bottle. Hey – who said fanciness had to be expensive? Check out the full map below.
In the mood for a glass? Here are the best champagne bars and where to buy the best wine in London.
