Thought you'd already said goodbye to Paul, Mary and co? Think again – and pass the novelty tissues while you're at it. Here's your first ever look at the final ever episode of 'Bake Off' with Berry, the queen of all things baked, at the helm.

'GBBO' is back to make our Christmasses merry and bright, with two special festive instalments. As brand new pictures released by the BBC this morning prove, everyone is in attendance and feeling rather jolly about it too.

Look how cosy they are, snuggling under a crochet blanket and getting their stockings all muddled up.

Little did they know this would be the end. (The festive episode was filmed before Channel 4 bought the format and Mary Berry, Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroyc quit the show.)

'The Great Christmas Bake Off' will see the whole gang back together, alongside eight returning 'Bake Off' stars. The gang of familiar faces will be donning their aprons and battling it out in the tent to the crowned the ultimate winner.

Ready to find out who's back?

There's Howard from series four. You know, the chap at the heart of the great custard sabotage of 2013. Chetna, whose clever flavour combinations got her to the semi-finals in 2014. Series three finalist James, wearing the kind of jazzy knit we'd expect from him. And Janet who very nearly made it to the final in 2011.

Also back in the tent are series four's Ali, series three's Cathryn, exotic pesto-lover Norman and series two's Mary-Anne.

And what a merry ol' time they are all having together.

BBC

Mel's doing what any self-respecting 'Bake Off' fan would do if granted access to the tent, while Sue is getting her elbows distressingly close to Howard's baking once again...

Expect many a festive knit, some Christmassy bakes and a strong punning game when 'Bake Off' returns.

'The Great Christmas Bake Off' starts on Christmas Day at 4.45pm on BBC1. The second part will air on Boxing Day at 7pm.

In other news, here are 14 Christmas TV specials we are really looking forward to, the best films out in cinemas this Christmas and a rather confusing teaser for the new series of BBC1's 'Sherlock'
