The pop-up maestros behind Hot Tub Cinema and Pillow Cinema are looking to launch their first permanent proper grown-up movie theatre in a former picture palace in Hackney. The Castle Cinema closed 50 years ago and is currently hidden at the back of the Spar and Eat 17 restaurant on Chatsworth Road. Now after years of popping up all over London with wacky concepts, the Hot Tub crew want to open a classic cinema screening new, independent and arthouse flicks, which you'll watch in actual seats! They've just launched a Kickstarter campaign to restore it to its former glory and need £45,000 to make it a reality. Help them make it happen.
