Hello, heatwave! Hello, huge queues for London's lidos!

I don't know if you've noticed, but it's pretty hot outside. Don't spend all afternoon sat at your desk sobbing into your Pret popcorn, though. Yep, you might wish your were lazing at your local lido not dealing with a nightmare spreadsheet right now, but remember: QUEUES.

You're probably imagining all your freelance friends dipping their toes in a still blue pool, cutting through the untouched water as they practise their backstroke, but that's definitely not the case right now. The lidos are heaving: the sunbathing areas are so rammed you can't lie down, there are lines snaking about the entrance and the water is a splishy-splashy nightmare. Don't believe me? Just take a look at these pictures.
