January's a dull, dark month full of back-to-work tears and diet woes, but our tube journeys might be a little brighter on January 10. Sunday marks this year's official No Trousers Tube Ride – a grand event in which a few brave Londoners ditch their pants for a ride around the city. Why? For lols.

The event is the UK sister to the American No Pants Subway Ride which happens on the same day and has been running since 2002.

Last year more than 300 Londoners rode the tube in their tighty-whiteys and nearly 600 people have registered their interest in this year's event. There's even the promise of an after-party for the keenest carefree commuters.

The event starts at 3pm, and the meeting point is the pagoda in Chinatown, WC2H 2JR.
