Tucked away as it is in a trafficky street between Kentish Town and Holloway, The Rose & Crown's passing trade can only really consist of local schoolchildren (there's a primary nearby) and their mums. This makes it extra commendable that the pub pours a craft beer line-up so well-crafted that a Portland, Oregon, resident would be impressed. Staff are enthusiastic about both beer – they offer free tastes till you decide what you want to order – and about making sure you feel totally comfortable. (We’ve even been asked if we wanted the heating turned up.) The trendy vintage furniture helps make it a very comfortable place to settle into. Board games, a little garden and street food residencies will help afternoons fly by, and some evenings offer DJs and stand-up comedy nights in the events room downstairs.
