A new display of the Crown Jewels opened on March 29, 2012, along with an introductory exhibition that focuses on coronation ceremonies since 1066. The jewels will be shown in the order in which they are used in coronation ceremonies, with improved lighting and three-dimensional models for visually-impaired visitors. The exhibition examines how the jewels are used during the ceremony and the symbolism of each object, and includes restored film footage of the Queen's coronation in 1953 and music – Handel's coronation anthems.
