Matt Stokes: Cantata Profana

He’s ensconced himself in Northern Soul communities and Austin’s punk scene to discover the passion of sub-cultures and their life-changing capabilities. To coincide with his forthcoming Matt’s Gallery commission, Matt Stokes’s presents his six-screen video and sound work ‘Cantata Profana’ in an amphitheater formation. Each projection focuses on one of six singers as they belt out compositions that intertwine metal and choral music. The immersive experience creates unexpected synergy between social groups.
