Expect big things from the French street artist's October show. Coinciding with the release of his in-depth Phaidon monograph, JR, who is known for his distinctive large-scale photographic works that are pasted in urban environments or on the exteriors of buildings, presents two on-going projects. Continuing to heighten awareness of current affairs such as migration and discrimination, ‘Unframed Ellis Island’ (2014–present) commemorates the millions of immigrants who entered the United States via Ellis Island. While ‘Les Bosquets’ (2014–present) is the culmination of his collaboration with the New York City Ballet that included installations, his debut as a choreographer and a set of portraits. Also keep your eyes peeled, as JR will no doubt surprise us Londoners with a unique new work on the streets of our fair capital.
