Gillian Ayres: New Paintings and Prints

Despite her eighty-five years, the beloved-British painter hasn’t slowed down and still produces vibrant work at a vigorous rate. Inspired by the natural world, Ayre’s new paintings are full to the brim with bright, lively abstract shapes. Four large-scale paintings from between 1959 and 1997 counterbalance her latest work to reveal the trajectory of Ayres’ style from thrown oil paint to considered application.
