Fourth Plinth: Katharina Fritsch

Time Out says

Known for her reworkings of everyday objects and images, Katharina Fritsch makes the familiar strange through unlikely shifts in scale and leaps across the colour spectrum. Here, she treats us Londoners to a fourteen-foot-high statue of a rooster, painted a glowing ultramarine. Yes, the pun is intended but Fritsch’s 'Hahn/Cock', which joins Trafalgar Square’s other proud phallic symbols on Thursday July 25, is also an emblem of reawakening and regeneration (and France).
