A retrospective show of pop-indebted work from the '60s onwards by this celebrated British artist. As part of the Royal College of Art cohort that included David Hockney RA, Derek Boshier, and Ron Kitaj, Jones came to prominence during the emergence of the British pop art movement in the early 1960s. Using the visual language of commercial imagery, he has explored the female figure in all its guises and connotations for the past five decades. For this major survey, his vibrant paintings and rarely seen drawings will be grouped with his sculptures, including the controversial women-as-furniture sculptures as well as his steel cut-out sculptures.
