The most memorable photographic images used in the UK media in 2010, in categories including news, portraits, sports, arts and entertainment. Featured headline events range from the Japanese tsunami to the engagement of Prince William and Kate Middleton. This year's photograph of the year is by Charles McQuillan and depicts a doll created by Glenda Ewart's Yellow Cottage Nursery, which makes facsimiles of infants, or 'reborns', for customers around the world who wish to have a permanent memento of their child's early years. In McQuillan's photo, a child and her 'reborn' doll sit side by side.
