Located opposite Restoran Say Huat, this stretch is popularly occupied by food trucks, stalls, plastic tables and fluorescent lights at dinnertime. You won’t go wrong with the comforting (yet unusual) herbal pan mee, sweet-sauce-slathered chee cheong fan, or the seafood skewers from the Fat One steamboat van. A star attraction is the self-service tong sui stall, where large vats of Chinese dessert soups are displayed in varieties like sweet potato, red bean and peanut.
