So much praise has been heaped on this fine dining restaurant set out like an old Japanese home. Fukuya sports a minimalistic Zen setting, with semi-private rooms that look out onto the gardens. The well-constructed kaiseki menu here is testament to the chefs’ impeccable knife work, producing fresh sashimi cuts, sushi and grilled seafood with aplomb. But for a more concise, affordable introduction, the lunchtime Seiro set (a combo of grilled eel, salmon, sashimi, fried fish, miso soup and dessert) is a great overview to what Fukuya has to offer.
