Providence is here to impress. Initial publicity material spouted phrases like ‘luxury clubbing’ and ‘premium nightlife experience’. Then they installed an OLED light feature on the ceiling as the centrepiece of the club, the first and largest of its kind in Southeast Asia. But don’t expect this to be a mega dance club akin to Zouk or Vertigo, because you won’t find yuppie-club-kids or hipsters here – exclusivity is the keyword. It’s only a small space, with a limited number of VIP tables.
Your standard night can involve premium spirits (Belvedere, Johnnie Walker Gold) and progress to high-end champagnes – there are no buy-one-free-one deals or promos of that sort here. Although if you have money to spend, they do have promotions like 50 bottles of Moët & Chandon for RM18,500 or ten bottles of Dom Pérignon for RM11,000. Of course, if you just want one drink, you can buy one as well. But be prepared to stand at the bar because you probably won’t get a seat. It’s all about exclusivity, remember? Ian Loh
