Though inspired by the speakeasy concept, RUYI and LYN is too big to be considered as one. Yes, getting there can be tricky as it’s quite obscure – go up to the fourth floor where City Golf is, head towards the restroom and you’d see the sign at the end of the hallway – but it’s a huge multi-space venue that packs in a bar, a lounge, a cigar room, several private dining rooms complete with karaoke, a secluded balcony and a restaurant.
This ambitious venture by The Oriental Group of Restaurants marks a huge departure from the company’s usual classic Chinese look and feel. But judging from first impressions, it looks set to attract a younger hip and urban crowd. RUYI and LYN is swanky and modern. The interior is design driven featuring rich dark palettes and very chic designer furniture, plus it’s roomy. It’s a cool space that encourages you to just take your time and chill.
