This quirky and spectacular film fest brings a diverse lineup of crowd-funded indie flicks to Chicago, giving us the chance to see films by up-and-coming filmmakers, completely free of charge. Selections include the hilarious vampire mockumentary What We Do in the Shadows, directed by and starring Flight of the Conchords’ Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi; the Sundance selection Afronauts, in which a team of Zambian misfits races to beat America to the moon; and Don Hertzfeldt’s animated short World of Tomorrow, in which protagonist Emily is visited by her future cloned self. The weird, wonderful and award-winning flicks will be shown across two screenings at the Music Box. Why not clear your schedule and binge-watch them all?
