A 26.2-mile race is a long slog. Runners need the encouragement of the family, friends and strangers along the Chicago Marathon route to keep them going, not to mention avert boredom. That's where spectator signs come in. It seems ilke every year they get funnier and more clever, and 2014's batch didn't disappoint. And, more important, they kept runners moving, and maybe even laughing.
