Named after the title under which Dawn of the Dead was released in Italy, Pittsburgh prog-rockers Zombi have a predilection for spooky, synthesizer-driven soundtracks. Armed with a drum kit, guitars and an array of vintage electronics, the duo performs haunting instrumental tracks that are somewhere between a John Carpenter composition and a towering post-rock anthem. The group's recent EP, Liquid Crystals, is packed with heavy guitar riffs, lending an even more forboding atmosphere to the duo's moody synth arrangements. Experimental Chicago rock acts Luggage and Mirror Age open the show.
