Chicago bars received yet more recognition on Thursday, as Three Dots and a Dash and the Aviary were named to the World's 50 Best Bars list, an annual ranking that's voted on by industry professionals. The U.S. did well overall, with 16 bars on the list (New York's awesome Dead Rabbit, a bi-level bar that channels old New York, clocked in at No. 2), and the top spot went to London's Artesian, an exceptional hotel bar that's held the No. 1 slot for three straight years.

The list, which is announced in London, is in its sixth year, but this is the first time Chicago bars have appeared on it—the Aviary came in at 13, while Three Dots is No. 27. The list is just the latest honor for these two bars: At this summer's Tales of the Cocktail, Three Dots won Best New American Cocktail Bar, while the Aviary won World's Best Cocktail Menu. Also, Aviary bartender Charles Joly was just named the World's Best Bartender in a contest sponsored by liquor company Diageo.

Here's the full list of winners.
