Merkle’s Bar and Grill

There’s something endearing about a bar named for a 1908 New York version of Steve Bartman; Fred Merkle wrecked a victory for New York by failing to touch base in a playoff game against the Cubs. Not surprisingly, this watering hole bleeds Cubby blue, complete with pics of old-time ballplayers. The taps lack heartier brews, focusing on the lighter lagers for drink-’em-down sports fans.
