Whether you’re embarking on a long journey or just coming back from a week in the sun, it’s always nice to know that many Chicago institutions (such as the Berghoff Cafe at O’Hare and Manny’s Deli at Midway) offer tastes of Chicago just steps away from the departing and arriving gates. But which one holds the honor of hosting the most replicas of Chicago-based restaurants? That would be O’Hare—but just barely. The much larger travel hub has ten local eateries (such as Billy Goat Tavern and Grill and Eli’s Cheesecake) in its terminals over Midway’s nine (which include Harry Caray’s and Lalo’s Mexican Restaurant). Not surprisingly—since our city is known for hot dogs—both ’ports feature Gold Coast Dogs.
