There’s a fabulous sense of solidarity at Stokes Croft’s hipster laundromat/café with first-timers swapping tales of washing machine woe and regulars reminiscing about the out-of-action agitator that led to them first making their acquaintance with BS6’s finest pancakes.
Not many people discover this place without a laundry issue on their hands but everyone who does seems to become a regular. The attention-grabbing pancake stacks (with blueberries, or bacon, or both) are top of the must-try list, with savoury and sweet French toast, bacon sarnies and eggs on toast following closely behind.
Great for coffee, hangover obliteration and entertaining small children (there’s a brilliant kids’ play corner), there’s absolutely no requirement to join the queue for the giant dryer out back but should you feel the need laundry prices are reasonable and the service washes are life changing.
Artily hotchpotch decor makes this a relaxing spot to hang out, check your emails (using the free WiFi or computers in the cubby on the right) and put the world to rights one correctly paired sock at a time.
