This exhibition is the result of a two year project which looked to uncover historical, cultural and economic links between Jamaica and Britain.
During a workshop held late last year, a number of elderly people from the community were asked to share memories of independence, while young people voiced how they felt about their own identities and sense of belonging now.
The touching project features recordings, videos, and prints alongside archival photographs from the Birmingham Jamaican community and explores how early social, cultural and environmental influences have formed modern notions of identity in a multicultural Britain.
