Watching a film at home, in the bath, has its dangers – death being one likely outcome. But there is a safer (if slightly less relaxing) way to live out that dream of a bubble-soaked cinema-going experience. From April 10-19, London film promoters Hot Tub Cinema will be splash-landing in Birmingham.
The organisers will be unloading 20 hot tubs into sprawling Digbeth warehouse venue Boxxed for ten nights of silver-screen action. It's not for everyone, of course, but if sharing a bath with scantily-clad strangers isn't your worst nightmare then you'll enjoy diving into your designated hot tub to watch a Hollywood classic while being attended to by tub-side waiters.

The event, which started as a private party in the south-west in 2006, has put on sold-out events around the world since launching publicly in London in 2012. Birmingham is the first stop on their UK-wide Power of Tub tour.
After the Flatpack Film Festival's more esoteric programme, Hot Tub Cinema is bringing films with a little more mainstream appeal to their two-week bash. The full line-up is as follows…
The Lion King, Friday April 10
Ghostbusters, Saturday April 11
Grease, Sunday April 12
Back to the Future, Monday April 13
Dirty Dancing, Tuesday April 14
Anchorman, Wednesday April 15
A film voted for by cinema goers, Thursday April 16
The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Friday April 17
The Hangover, Saturday April 18
Mean Girls, Sunday April 19
Tickets for the Birmingham shows go on sale at midday today (March 6) from Hot Tub Cinema.
Just beware: the image below comes from a previous Hot Tub Cinema event. Perhaps the close proximity to other people's feet was just a little too much for some…
