October 2024: Earlier this year we revealed our list of London’s 50 best restaurants for 2024, with a brand new Number One; the majestic Mambow in Clapton, east London. But London's food scene doesn't stand still and neither do we. Alas, one of the Top 50 – the ace Mystic Burek cafe in Sydenham – closed down last month, so we’ve removed it from the list and replaced it with the fabulous, newly-opened Sesta, which you'll find by London Fields in east London.
If you'd like to check out more of our recent reviews, then here are our critics’ thoughts on Marceline, a new French bistro that somehow makes Canary Wharf feel homely, the staunch Lasdun in the National Theatre, the lovely latest opening from Jose Pizarro – Lolo in Bermondsey Street, and the recently revamped Paradise in Soho, which has taken its modern Sri Lankan cuisine into tasting menu territory.
