Time Out says

It’s only fitting that in a year where most travel happened from our couch, we’d be introduced to a hotel without any actual rooms to speak of. Meet Freehold, a Brooklyn-born hospitality concept that combines the cool lobby vibes and trendy eateries you might find in a hip hotel but there’s no place to stay. To think, all those years people loitered in the common areas of the Ace and the Standard properties without being guests, they could’ve just been hanging at the Freehold instead.

The idea here is not a place for overnight stays rather day-to-night accommodations, where folks can hold business meetings, join friends for a meal or gather for a drink and DJ-spun tunes—and then go home to their own beds. Freehold’s ample indoors are reminiscent of a coworking space but, unlike those, you won’t need to pay for a membership to fire off some emails from one of their cozy couch setups or built-in nooks. There’s even more room outside in the 4,000-square-foot courtyard complete with a pool deck (no pool though), covered seating and a private cabana—because Miami.

Need to refuel? The Freehold has a number of options. There’s a front desk but it functions more like a bar than a place to check-in, and a café where you can get Counter Culture coffee and assorted pastries. For something more substantial, the Pizza Shop sells NY-style slices and crispy, thin pies. Anthony Falco of Roberta’s fame is behind the menu, so you know it’s good.

Programming is on the docket and will include live music performances, happy hour and comedy shows, though all that’s to come.
